Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of the Peekeasy macOS application and related services (“Peekeasy”), operated by Peekeasy LLC, a Washington limited liability company (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using Peekeasy, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use Peekeasy.
1. The service
Peekeasy is a native macOS application for connecting to databases, running SQL in query tabs and notebooks, analyzing results locally on your Mac, and using an AI assistant to help explore your data. Some features require an account and/or a paid subscription.
2. Eligibility & account
You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to use Peekeasy. You’re responsible for your account, for keeping your credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. Account sign-in is provided through our hosted login.
3. Your databases and data — your responsibility
You may connect Peekeasy only to databases you are authorized to access. You are responsible for your data, your database credentials, and for complying with the obligations that apply to the data you access (including confidentiality, privacy, and data-protection requirements). You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups.
Peekeasy runs the SQL you or the assistant execute against your database — including statements that modify or delete data. You accept the risk of running those statements and are responsible for reviewing them first.
4. The AI assistant
When you use the AI assistant, your requests are processed by Peekeasy’s backend and by the third-party AI provider you select (Anthropic, OpenAI, or DeepSeek). By using the assistant, you authorize this processing and agree to the applicable provider’s terms. AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete, and may generate SQL that does not do what you intend — always review AI-suggested SQL before running it, especially statements that modify data. You are responsible for your use of AI output. Providers handle your data differently; see our Privacy Policy (especially the DeepSeek disclosure) before choosing a provider for sensitive data.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Peekeasy for unlawful purposes, or to access databases or data you are not authorized to access;
- attempt to breach, disrupt, or overload our backend or the AI providers;
- reverse engineer, resell, or sublicense the service except as permitted by law;
- use the service to build a competing product by improper means; or
- violate the AI providers’ usage policies (for example, generating disallowed content).
6. Subscriptions & billing
Paid plans are billed through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges until you cancel. Prices, plan limits, and usage quotas are described at purchase and may change with notice. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. You can manage or cancel your subscription through the Stripe billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
7. License & ownership
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Peekeasy for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms. We retain all right, title, and interest in Peekeasy, including its software, models, and branding. You retain ownership of your own data and content.
8. Third-party services
Peekeasy relies on third-party services, including Anthropic, OpenAI, DeepSeek, Supabase, Stripe, Cloudflare, and Tally. Your use of features that depend on them is also subject to their terms, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions.
9. Early software
Peekeasy is early-stage software provided on an evolving basis. Features may change, break, or be removed, and we may introduce or change usage limits.
10. Disclaimers
Peekeasy is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Peekeasy will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that AI output will be accurate. You use Peekeasy at your own risk.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Peekeasy and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising from your use of Peekeasy — including any data loss or corruption resulting from queries run through the app or the AI assistant. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$50.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Peekeasy harmless from claims arising out of your use of the service, your data, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
13. Termination
You may stop using Peekeasy at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service. On termination, your license ends; your local data remains on your Mac.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms; we’ll post the updated version and revise the “last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in Washington will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of Peekeasy.
